Active Ingredients Vital for your Skincare Routine
In our previous blog a basic skin care routine was discussed with you and was said that we can add some ‘active’ ingredients to this basic skincare routine. In this Blog we will discuss just that as it was said.
Active Ingredients can be in the form of anti-oxidants like Vitamin-C, hydrating agents like hyaluronic acid, then there are exfoliating agents like glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, mandelic acid, then there are anti-aging ingredients like retinoids. These products can be chosen according to the specific concerns one person has. It is advisable to use products containing anti-oxidants like Vitamin-C to be used in the morning which can be put on the face after your moisturizer and then followed by the sunscreen. Exfoliating agents are preferably used at bedtime after the moisturizer.
So, the most popular anti-aging product which can be added to any skin care routine is retinaldehyde which reduces open pores, fine lines and increase the collagen production in the skin and thus changing the suppleness of the skin. For people having blemishes shall use products containing exfoliating agents like AHA’s e.g. glycolic acid or mandelic acid. Another useful product that is popular is a hyaluronic acid-based serum or cream because hyaluronic acid is a wonderful product as it has multiple benefits. It has anti-oxidants, hydrating and anti-aging action.
While a person is taking care of his face there are 2 more areas one shall not forget; first is the under-eye area and the second is the neck. So, you need to apply specific products for these 2 areas as well.
1- The skin around the eyes is very sensitive, so there are separate skin creams which are meant for this area. Now, specific products can be chosen according to the concerns one person has.
2- Most of the products which are used on the face can also be used for the neck as well with the exception of a few products. Products containing exfoliating agents like glycolic acid or retinoids shall be applied with caution on the neck. The reason for this is because they can cause irritation.
Now I hope that you follow this skincare routine and add it to your basic skincare routine and you will have a glowing, healthy skin with nothing to worry about.
